Andres Manuel's latest achievement: President Fox becomes stronger than ever
Yesterday morning, before all the circus began, Reforma had published the results of the latest survey over the acceptance on President Fox. The news is that President Fox is as strong as he has ever been within his term with close to 70% of acceptance. It is a reflection of an economy that is in good shape over the last year, a vote of confidence on him, but most importantly it tells you how people are siding on the postelectoral conflict. Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador has made a point multiple times during the post electoral period of blaming Fox for being intolerant and anti-democratic. However, the people dont seem to be buying the argument.
Now the PRD, in a historical event, prevented the president to deliver its last adress of the nation speech. A group of PRD legislators took the tribune and prevented the president from delivering to his constitutional obligation. The president delivered the written document and left the room, not falling into the trap. He delivered the speech to the nation later on nationwide TV. I don't know what was the plan that the PRD had with doing this but it seems to be backfiring big time on them. The plan to make Fox look like an authoritarian is actually working the other way around. By seizing the tribune by the force the PRD is looking authoritarian and marking Fox look like a victim. The one that is standing to win and grow a stronger image is actually President Fox and not Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador.
In which country that has a strong democratic tradition anywhere in the planet does a party denies to listen to what other parties have to say? Is this a democratic attitude?
What is your opinion? Who wins and who loses?

At this point, I agree with you. AMLO is shooting himself in the foot, and this will likely hurt the PRD.

I'm a Mexican living in Mexico, and you are absolutely right. The Mexican people have a respect for the president that is deeply engraved in their souls, for centuries now. The Aztec emperor was the Huey Tlatoani, literally, the Big Speaker, the guy who had The Word. So, the worse offense you can make the Mexican people as a whole is *not letting the president speak* lol. And that's exactly what they did. Huge mistake. The left is commiting suicide in Mexico with this and many other instances shown that in hard date.
Congratulations for your blog.
